Steve McBride joined the staff at CUMC in October 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education from West Chester University, with a concentration in Voice, Organ, and Conducting, and is enrolled in the graduate program for Sacred Music Pedagogy at Westminster Choir College (Rider University). Since the age of 14, Steve has been serving churches as organist and choir director.

​Steve is also very active as an educator, conductor, and accompanist. ​H​e is the Choral Director at Langston Hughes Middle School (FCPS) in Reston, Virginia. ​He has been Music Director/Conductor of several musical theatre productions. He has directed summer theatre workshops, master classes, and camps, including several years’ residence as associate music director for OPERADelaware’s summer artist program.

Steve joined the sales team of R. A. Daffer Church Organs, Inc. in 2007 where he worked as a sales manager and marketing specialist. Additionally, Steve is the North American Dealer Coordinator for Fratelli Ruffatti Pipe Organs of Padua, Italy. He specializes in sales from an educational point of view, working specifically with the artistic needs of the clients.

He, his Maltipoo (Alfie), Macaws (Frankie, Nita, and Buddy), Jenday Conure (Phoebe), and his partner Alexandra reside in Centreville, Virginia.
